Aspex announces integration of Accelera HD MPEG-2 Encoder with Adobe Production Studio
Buckinghamshire, UK – 9th May 2006 – Aspex Semiconductor™, a UK -based fabless
semiconductor company developing leading-edge software programmable "Extreme Processors", today announced availability of its Accelera HD MPEG-2 encoder solution,
integrated with the leading Adobe® Production Studio suite, including Adobe Premiere® Pro 2.0, Adobe After Effects® 7.0 Professional, and Adobe Encore® DVD 2.0.
The Aspex Accelera solution is a PCI-X plug-in card with 16,000 parallel processing elements, designed to dramatically accelerate the time-consuming HD MPEG-2 video compression task, which runs many times slower than realtime, even on the latest multicore workstations.
By transparently accelerating the MainConcept MPEG-2 encoder built into Adobe Production Studio, the Accelera card provides professional HD users with significant productivity gains, without changing their workflow. By supporting all the existing MPEG-2 compression options
already built into Adobe Production Studio, users can keep the same familiar user interface and controls, project settings and encoding presets.
The Accelera solution achieves high-speed video compression at the maximum quality settings, making speed/quality tradeoffs a thing of the past.
