03/10/2008 - SPARK managed funds: We7 awarded Best Digital Music Service at the BT Digital Awards 2008
We7 beat 7digital and Sellaband amongst others to win the Best Digital Music Service at the BT Digital Music Awards 2008 held in London on the 1st October 2008.
SPARK managed funds SPARK VCT plc and SPARK VCT 3 plc are both shareholders in We7 Limited, a venture Co-founded by ex-Genesis front man and digital pioneer Peter Gabriel.
This has been a really exciting week for We7 after signing 1.3m tracks from Orchard, not to mention an exciting year with Sony BMG, EMI and Warner Music coming on board.
The BT Digital Music Awards recognises the artists and those in the industry both established and up and coming, who are delivering the best in cutting-edge digital music entertainment. With broadband connections growing in the UK to over 13 million there has never been a better time to recognise digital music. Digital music sales have grown to £124.4m in 2007 alone, with more than five million different tracks available to stream, rent or buy on the Internet.
